DESCRIPTION
The Adventure Medic Program is a 40 hour Wilderness First Aid program consisting of 3 days of classroom instruction and 2 days of practical skills in a wilderness setting (format may vary). This course is intended for the first aider who has delayed access to emergency resources and focuses on the long term implications for initial care, stabilization and evacuation of patients in remote wilderness locations. Suitable for those who work in a `non-standard` environment and for those who take on a leadership role in the back country. It is the “industry standard” for those who lead youth and adult groups in the outdoors. Not suitable for those who will be venturing into truly remote regions for an extended period of time with no additional help available to them. Participants receive a course workbook, textbook “Wilderness First Aid – Emergency Care for Remote Locations”, and an Adventure Medic Wilderness First Aid certification. Use of all medical supplies required during the course is included. Participants will have the option to purchase first aid kit and/or supplies at a discounted rate during the course.
